Allegheny Mountain Rescue Group

Allegheny Mountain Rescue Group field members are experienced in outdoors activities, with training in mountain rescue, land navigation, wilderness survival, and emergency and wilderness medicine. Training and certification of AMRG  members meet stringent Appalachian Search and Rescue Conference and Mountain Rescue Association standards. Administrative, medical, communications, and base management members support our field operations.

No experience is needed to get involved with AMRG. Anyone who is interested and willing to help is welcome to join. All necessary training is provided by AMRG. Most members train and become certified in wilderness rescue, but we are also looking for members who can help with administration (e.g., lawyers and accountants). If you might be interested in joining or helping, call, write, or come to a meeting or training session.
