What: CDS Outdoor School basic Wilderness First Aid class, which meets Wilderness Medical Society guidelines and has been recognized by a number of external groups, including the Filmont Scout Camp and the New York Guides Association.

When: Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 20 and 21, 2010, 8 a.m. to about 5 p.m. You must register by Nov. 6 so we can order the textbooks!

Why: This is a perfect class for either outdoorspeople who want to be prepared for what the woods can dish out or volunteer SAR responders looking for basic first-aid certification. The proceeds benefit AMRG, an all-volunteer organization that helps lost and injured people in the woods at no cost to them or the government agencies we support.
