AMRG provides a variety of outreach and educational services, to community groups, government organizations, and law enforcement agencies. Our programs include:
Preventative SAR and Programs for Schools, Community Groups, and Children
AMRG provides educational programs for tailored for children. AMRG and the Allegheny County Child Abduction Response Team are western Pennsylvania’s local provider of National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) training programs to keep children safe.

- Hug-A-Tree and Survive is a 1 hour long education program that teaches pre-school and elementary school children what to do if they get lost outdoors.
- NetSmartz is a NCMEC class that provides age-appropriate videos and activities to help teach children be safer online with the goal of helping children to become more aware of potential online risks and empowering them to help prevent victimization by making safer choices on- and offline.
- KidSmartz is a NCMEC class that child safety program that educates families about preventing abduction and empowers kids in grades K-5 to practice safer behaviors. This program offers resources to help parents, caregivers, and teachers protect kids by teaching and practicing the 4 Rules of Personal Safety using classroom lessons, at-home lessons, parent tips, and fun printable activities.
- Smokey the Bear visits. AMRG’s DCNR Wildfire Wardens can bring Smokey the Bear to your event.
- Scout badges and community events.
- Search Dog Demonstrations, Meet-and-Greets, and Touch-A-Truck Events
Children educational programs are provided at no cost, though donations are welcome. Contact us for more details.
Professional SAR Training and Education for First Responders
AMRG is the premier provider of advanced SAR training, beyond standard classes taught through the County Fire Academy. AMRG is a registered educational provider for PA Dept of Health continuing education, MPOETC Continuing Law Enforcement Education (CLEE) training provider, and a NASAR training provider.

AMRG never charges law enforcement agencies, government organizations, or subjects for any of our emergency services. We are 100% volunteer, non-profit, and do not charge for search or rescue services, but we may need to charge for training.
